Our President was in C Company, Hanau from 1976-78 and retired from the Army as a SFC in 2000. David and Dawn have four children and six grandchildren. Post military Dave worked as a Sheetrock Taper and hunting and fishing guide. In Dave’s spare time he serves on the local school board, coaches' basketball and golf and drives a school bus for Onamia, MN.
Gerry (Pronounced Gary) was assigned to A Company, Frankfurt 1963-65. Prior to enlisting Gerry served three years with the Tecumseh P.D. and after the Army returned to the same department. Gerry’s law enforcement career was just shy of 40 years. For 50 years Gerry volunteered in numerous leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America. He’s particularly proud of his two Eagle Scout sons and one Eagle Scout Grandson. Gerry and Bonnie reside in Tecumseh, have been married 57 years, have four children and seven grandkids.
Sam served in the 127th MP Co. in Hanau between 1977 -79 and he’s been the Association’s Treasurer since the 2015 Erlanger reunion. Sam is retired from two civilian police departments totaling 35 years of service. The last 11 years were as Police Chief in Iowa City, Iowa. Presently, Sam and his wife Annette operate a small cattle ranch in Hallsville, Missouri. Being invited to the Battalion’s 75th Anniversary Ball in Garmisch-Partenkirchen by then Battalion Commander Jeff Searl was the highlight of being in the Association. (Editor’s note: Hargadine and Fuqua were barracks roommates in Hanau).
Past President Tony served with the 709th in Hanau, Germany from 1976-78. First with C CO and later as a Military Police Investigator (MPI) attached to the 3rd Armor Division. After Germany, Tony had a career with a suburban police department just outside Ann Arbor, MI. After law enforcement Tony began working with a large non-profit organization in Detroit, MI, where he continues to work. He lives in Livonia, with his wife Pat and daughter Mary.
Bill Newman went to basic at Ft Leonard Wood in August of 1976 and then to AIT at Ft. McClellan. Originally assigned to Giessen and the 564th MP Co. and in January 1977 sent to Mainz. After a battalion reorganization eight months later, he was assigned to the 2nd Platoon of the 527thMP Co headquartered in Wiesbaden. He remained in that unit until being discharged in August, 1979.
After the Army, Bill returned home to Reno, Nevada to pursue higher education. He retired after 20 years of working for the State of Nevada in welfare and corrections. Since retiring from the state, he’s worked for the VA and is now back in the US Army as a civilian ASVAB test administrator.

Due to the unexpected passing of James Fuqua, the board of directors met on October 13, 2024 and elected then VP David Osterman to fulfill Fuqua's remaining term.
At the 2023 Louisville reunion Jim was elected as Past President Emeritus. Because of Jim's service to the Association and desire for the Association's continued success this new position was proposed and voted on unanimously by the membership.
Jim served in Hanau from 1976-1978. First as “C” Company which was later changed to 127th MP Company. After the Army, he returned home to Fond du Lac, Wi. Jim and Joan have two sons and five grandkids.
Jim worked as a construction labor for 12 years and then as a City of Fond du Lac employee for 33 years retiring as a Park Supervisor. Jim served on the Town Taycheedah board in several different positions for the past 25 years and is presently a Town Supervisor (called City Council in other places).
Chaplain Kim served with the 92nd MP Co. in Baumholder from 1978-80. After the Army, he continued in law enforcement with the Charter Twp of Redford, Michigan and retiring in 2002 with the rank of Sergeant. After six weeks on the P.D. Kim married Judi, the woman of his dreams. She still puts up with him after forty years. After retirement, Kim went to Bible school and became Rev. Kim in the Assemblies of God. He’s been a hospice chaplain, Associate Pastor, Worship Pastor and Senior Pastor. He’s honored to serve as the Chaplain for this great organization. (Editor’s Note: Hargadine and Sivyer were barracks roommates in Amberg while assigned to ADA missile security prior to transferring to the 709th).
Louise Stack (AKA Louise Lex and Louise Willsey) served in Hanau, Germany from December 1974 to December 1979 assigned to C Co and then 127th MP Co when it was redesignated. Louise was the first female MP in the 127th to be promoted to the rank of NCO, first as a corporal and then sergeant. In 1978 she worked in MPI, which fell under 3rd Armor Division, although it was still in Hanau. After five years in Germany Louise was sent to Ft. Bragg, NC for her last year in the Army.
Louise has had several positions on the Association board and was reelected back on the board at the 2021 Nashville reunion. In civilian life she had a career in hospital security followed by volunteering with the Milwaukee Fire Department and the Wisconsin Veterans Home. Louise and her husband Kim live in Milwaukee and participate in various veteran’s activities.
Dixie “Sgt Dixie” Thompson is originally from Mason City, Iowa, and now lives in Paradise, Nevada (better known as the home of the Las Vegas Strip). She served with A Co/284 MP Co, 709 MP Bn in Frankfurt, Germany, from January 1974 to November 1977. Dixie, along with Toni Funk and Kathy Brooks, were the first female MPs in the battalion. She went on to retire from the Army after 20 years’ service. She now volunteers and writes to support women veterans. She has 2 sons, one of whom is a Drill Sergeant at Ft Benning, she also has 2 granddaughters and 3 grand dogs. Dixie was elected to the board this past reunion in Nashville.
